Standard cargo at the Sarp border crossing

After completing registration, you may park in any suitable place and wait for your turn.

You can wait:

— in the truck holding area

— along the road

— in the town area

The town has all the essential facilities:

— supermarkets

— shops

— a market

— cafés and restaurants

— hotels

— beaches near the town

You may stay in town and wait for your turn.

To monitor the queue, check your status on the website:

Open the website and click the blue button.

The status is shown by colour:

— red — waiting

— yellow — your turn is approaching

You can also check for fines on the website — any fine is shown next to the vehicle registration number. 👇

Yellow — you may proceed to the second holding area.

Red — waiting.

Blue — a fine is displayed.

Second holding area

When your number appears in yellow in the system, your turn is approaching.

You can then proceed to the second holding area.

Payment is made in the second holding area. If you do not have a vehicle card, you will need to buy one there.

👉 IMPORTANT!!! Payment is in cash, in Turkish lira.

After that:

— turn around

— drive towards the border

— continue to the main queue

Then join the end of the queue and wait to enter the checkpoint.

🚛 Border crossing (Turkey)

You enter the checkpoint in turn, following the queue.

Follow the main queue and the actions of the other drivers.

The Turkish side is processed first.

Processing is usually completed without leaving the vehicle.

You only need to leave the vehicle in certain cases:

— if you need to visit the duty-free shop

— if you have fines

— if there are questions about your documents

— after completing the Turkish side, proceed to the Georgian side.

🚛 Border crossing (Georgia)

At the entrance, an officer will direct you to one of the windows.

Pull up to the window and complete processing, usually without leaving the vehicle.

Processing is usually quick.

There are two possible outcomes:

— if you are not sent for an X-ray, you leave the border after processing

— if you are sent for an X-ray, you are given two documents (one for the X-ray and one for you)

🚛 After the border (mandatory)

After leaving the border, proceed to the nearest fuel station.

At the fuel station, arrange:

— insurance (mandatory)

— transit paperwork (if required for transit cargo)

You can pay for all services by bank card.

You can also buy a SIM card at the fuel station with unlimited internet for one week. It costs 15 lari.
